Compare team experience and reuse
An experienced team can deliver more predictably with its established stack. Existing JavaScript or TypeScript knowledge may favour React Native; an experienced Flutter team may be productive with Dart and its tooling. Reuse of backend services, design decisions and tested modules can matter more than a theoretical difference in coding speed.
Check integrations before estimating
List payments, maps, notifications, authentication and any specialised device features. Review the quality and maintenance of the libraries needed to implement them. Where uncertainty is significant, commission a small technical test. Include device testing and platform-specific adjustments rather than assuming every feature is shared without additional work.
Include maintenance and handover
Ask who will maintain the app and how another developer could take over. Document build and release procedures, dependencies and platform-specific code. CaptainDev commonly works with React Native; the recommendation for your project should still follow its requirements and constraints, with the reasoning visible in the quote.
