Improving an app’s visibility in the stores

App Store Optimisation connects the store listing with the people the product serves. Clear descriptions and accurate visuals help visitors understand whether the app meets their needs. Visibility also depends on factors beyond the listing, including product quality and demand.

Describe the benefit clearly

Choose a title and supporting copy that communicate the app’s purpose using language relevant to the audience. Research the terms users employ and check the current store-specific fields and rules. Avoid keyword stuffing and misleading claims. The listing should match the actual features available in the released version.

Show the real experience

Screenshots should explain important journeys and benefits rather than present disconnected interface decorations. Localise text and assets for the intended audience. Keep support and privacy information current. Honest user feedback helps identify friction in both the product and its presentation; do not fabricate reviews or ratings.

Measure and improve

Track listing impressions, visits and installations using the available store tools. Compare changes over suitable periods and use supported experiments where practical. A higher download count does not prove long-term value, so examine activation and retention as well. No listing change can guarantee a particular ranking or conversion rate.
